John Blue has an MFA in photography, and has been a photographer for twelve years. He does both studio and street photography. The studio work is usually portraiture, fashion, and beauty photography. He does post, or editing, work, using Adobe Lightroom, Camera Raw, and PhotoShop. John is based in Queens, New York, and his classes take place in the wider New York area, and on Zoom. They consist of street photography and portraiture, and editing instruction. He will also be conducting studio classes in the near future.

Beginners Photography Class - Astoria Park, Astoria, New York - 2 pm - 3 Hours
This class will start by covering camera basics, including ISO, shutter speed, and aperture, and how to set up everyone's individual camera to obtain the proper exposure. It will also cover other basic techniques, such as proper framing.
Sitting on the edge of the East River and resting between the Triborough Bridge and Hell Gate Bridge, there are opportunities for good long-shot photographs. The park offers good shoreline views, as well.
This class will focus on global editing, and retouching. We will go over basic editing techniques in Adobe LIghtroom and Camera Raw.
Concepts such as curves, and the color mixer will be discussed.
We will go over retouching in Photoshop. This includes retouching the skin, hair, and clothing. Tools such as blending, and adjustment layers will be discussed.
