Overall, a terrific event. The location was outstanding, Tyler was a great guide about both the location and photographic questions. The timing was perfect--not too early but early enough to avoid the crowds. Very enjoyable experience and I think I got some great shots.

Den created a great tour of Greenwood Cemetery geared specifically towards photography and some history thrown in. She was engaged and interesting, and the morning was not rushed. Den waited a respectful amount of time for one attendee that never showed. I look forward to the next photo op with Den.

My first escorted photo walk ever. Was a very good experience. Will try more with Den and or others. Fine to have less lecture than I though would happen (though I truly desire critique) and able to break away for moments to take photos.

My interest in photography began during a trip to northern California while I was in college. The trip provided me the opportunity to shoot in a variety of genres which continue to hold my attention up to the present day, including street, landscape, and architecture. I spent two years living in Madrid, Spain, and traveling around Europe and Morocco, during which time I shot heavily on my iPhone. I then moved to New York and have been here ever since. After purchasing my first DSLR, a Nikon D3400, I began to learn more of the technical aspects of photography while using the camera as a way to explore the city and other places I visited.

I shot my first runway shows during NYFW several years ago, which led to work in portraiture and fashion. I have also shot events, weddings, and concerts. I work in both digital and film, with a preference for film for my personal work. I have exhibited in galleries in New York and Miami, as well as contributed to various print publications. I published a photo book this year entitled Islands: NYC During COVID 2020 - 2022. I am excited to share my knowledge and passion for photography and hope to empower photographers to explore the world through their lens.

Tyler Simnick is available for private bookings

Available most Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 6 PM. Additional availability by request.

    Private tutoring, events, portraits.

I live in Brooklyn, 5 minutes from the ocean. I love the summer beach season, because every Friday there are fireworks on the Coney Island beach. Every Friday from the end of May to the beginning of September at 9:45 PM. I've lived here for 3 years, but whenever I can I go out to take pictures. I tried to take photos from many sides, but I love this best when you can see the amusement park, The lights of the amusement park and the beauty of the fireworks inspired this photo of mine. The image

This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
